The Bucket- 4541 Eagle Rock Blvd., Eagle Rock, CA
The restaurant: We’ll describe it in a run-on sentence: We sat on rocky leather stools at a long high top wooden table that was remarkably clean for a wooden table in a shanty with one wall that housed four flat screen TVs playing, you guessed it, football and was attached to what we think was the main bar, although it’s unclear, and were served by a waitress who appeared to be...

myicecreamsocial asked: Wing Men,
I wanted to say that I really like your great wing expedition, and your tumblr gives me a good LOL. Though I have to admit that sometimes your comments about women kind of rub me the wrong way and come off kind of misogynistic. it's 2010 dudes, women enjoy their wings too (spicy, and without frilly lettuce.) Going to "woman up" and build a bone tower for lunch.

REVISED: IT'S A HOT WING RESTAURANT HOLD UP.
We’re keeping to our one-new-wing-joint-a-week schedule and slowly getting through our hold list. Still adding as we go… and honestly in no big rush to make an occasion out of Pizza Hut’s Wing Street. But duty calls so we’ll get there eventually. Below is our updated list. The restaurants we’ve visited since Wingtember are crossed out. Some we ate at and...

Drummettes: They're like unicorns and leprechauns....
Listen, we aren’t ignoring the question that was posed to us months back by a friend and loyal Large Hot reader… we’re just perplexed by the whole drummette conversation in general. To recap- we were asked why a local food establishment listed on their appetizer menu “drummettes” and not “drummies” or the more traditional “hot wing.” We...

We were too hungry to take a picture of the pre and post bone tower. But, let’s be honest you’ve seen these wings before. And we both know you’ll see them again.

Buff Wings- 4411 Eagle Rock Blvd., Eagle Rock, CA-...
We tried to go to Buff Wings twice in 24 hours when they were advertised as being open… but they were closed. OUTRAGE. If anyone goes to Buff Wings and finds them open buy us some wings and bring them to us. Until then Buff Wings is off of our hold list and on to our shit list.

Barney's Beanery- 250 N. 1st St., Burbank, CA
We tried ending our Tuesday at Buffalo Wild Wings only to find a 45-minute table wait assaulting our sensibilities. So, like men, we solved the problem by walking next door to Barney’s Beanery where we enjoyed a no-minute wait for some of our favorite wings.

The Great Chicken Wing Hunt happened in 2007-...
Matt Reynolds decided in 2006 to seek out the best East Coast hot wing- in 2007 he filmed it. We sought the best West Coast hot wing in 2010 during the very successful Wingtember. Matt Reynolds, we’ll gladly embark on a nationwide hunt… if you’re man enough for a real hot wing challenge. Check out Matt’s wing quest here.

Supreme Wings- 2511 W. Jefferson Blvd., LA, CA
The restaurant: Just off Jefferson Blvd. a block down from the Full Deliverance Church and across the street from the beauty shop; you know what they say: location, location, location. But let’s be honest, there’s nothing better than walking down a dark stretch of sidewalk on a Friday night in Crenshaw with the sounds of a gospel choir echoing all the way to the 10. Inside was simple: a ring of...

Being the well-read wing men that we are, we spend a portion of our day scouring the endless array of online Los Angeles County periodicals drooling over our keyboards in search of our next great basket of wings. And according to a recent article in LAWeekly we’ll be visiting Akasha in Culver City very soon.

El Torito- 3113 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA
The restaurant: This place is going through an identity crisis.  Honestly, El Torito, who are you kidding with your valet parking and Sunday brunch offerings?  The walls of your restaurant are bright yellow and orange, and you have a bowl of mints at the hostess’ podium like any other south-of-the-border eatery with menus thick in onions and beans.  You’re a Mexican theme...
